Sometimes my mind gets a little blown when I think about how many generations there have been since Avraham, Isaac and Jacob, and how throughout all the persecutions by the many enemies that have attempted to annihilate the Jews, as well as our own proclivity to disappear through assimilation into our hosts' cultures, that in fact, I was born a Jew. It's pretty miraculous, really, that there are any of us left after all the many enemies (and the Jews' own rebelliousness) throughout history. It is not through our own worthiness but it is through G-d's abundant mercy that we are here.
That's one of the reasons this particular prayer resonates with me, as it shows both the eternal nature of G-d, and the stubborn refusal of Jews to abandon Him. This print is available both with the prayer included as well as in a more simple design which emphasizes the central prayer.
