A field of blue encompasses a brilliant red, within a cool, silver metalic background in this acrylic on plexiglass work. The original is mounted on an aluminum panel, which one can glimpse through the painting when one looks closely. It serves to give the original a highly luminous appearance, as the light flows through the plexiglas and bounces off the aluminum surface before returning through the painted plexiglas again.

The bright vivid red close to the center of this piece is a puncture of passion within the surrounding blues, blacks and silver shapes. This work is texturized by scraping the paint from the surface. In this painting, the viewer is looking through a clear plexiglas surface, and the painting is underneath. The title reflects the idea of a buried passion which only needs the the right spark to set it free.
