At the center of the Jewish daily prayers is the Shemoneh Esrei, recited silently 3 times a day. And at the end of this prayer, we say these words, "Open my heart to Your Torah, so that my soul will pursue Your commandments." This hope, that each time we approach G-d, we can grow closer to Him and feel within ourselves a desire to know Him is such a meaningful plea. We need to open our hearts to accept His guidance in our lives. It is a prayer for humility and a prayer to love G-d deeply. It's one of my favorite of all the prayers we say.
